Self Therapy

I'm trying to therapize myself because I'm quite unstable currently and obviously will not get any professional help in this economy. So two things I've started doing: Name my demon. Saw that in a couple of Tiktoks - when your brain is engaging in negative self-talk, give that voice a male name because obviously you're not going to take shit from a man. So I named him Patrick. And oddly enough it works more often than not. "Shut up, Patrick!" or "Omg, Patrick is trying to manipulate again". Write it down. Heard multiple times from people that they can process their feelings by writing them down physically. I set rules, though: No ranting, no ruminating. No list of things that hurt me or fictional arguments. That's what happens in my head and what I need to stop. I'm allowed to name my feelings. Or better, if possible, write down what's actually happening. For example: "Not receiving a reply message doesn't mean the person has no affection for me. There was no need for an immediate answer. I can wait for an answer." Maybe one day I'll even try to write some affirmations. So far those strategies have helped me in a couple of situations. Not all the time, not with every breakdown. But sometimes. That's good. #personal
