Lizzo: BITCH
Hated it. It's like the songs are mostly demos, lacking production and development. Starts with a weird cheap electronic orchestra opening that's way less in volume than the following minimalist vocal piece. This first song - "A Toast" - actually has me captured by how bad it is. The melody feels improvised, so do the lyrics and accompanying piano. And that's it, there's nothing else. Also the content seems kinda butt hurt and that's the vibe of a lot of this album which is not a pleasant outlook considering Lizzo's recent past. While Ally X says "my least favorite lesson - learning in public" and Charli XCX constantly reflects on her relationship to fame, Lizzo is just petty. And includes a sample saying: "Lizzo is unproblematic."
Also I hate hate hate the cover.
Madonna: CONFESSIONS II
Back to the club! But more the loungy kinda vibe, not the hyperpop informed dancefloor Charli XCX hosts or the rhythmic energetic club beats Lady Gaga has us dance to. Madonna allows us to lose us in a steady beat with trance aesthetic, not too fast paced to keep dancing for the whole length of her album. And it's long, which I appreciate. Songs blend into each other just as this album is a continuation of "Confessions on the Dancefloor". Personally though, I feel like it's spiritual source is the "Ray of Light" album. The trance influence, the esoteric lyrics. Might seem silly but it's the second time Madonna's really striking a chord within me.

LUNA: Fairy Pop
Well produced lovely synth pop. Very much reminds me of Mirändä (check her out!) and even Indie Pop like Churches sometimes. This kinda music makes me happy, it's fun, it's synth heavy with bright vocals and catchy melodies. I first heard LUNA a couple years ago representing Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "The Tower" and this album lives up to that promise.
Slayyyter: WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
Having heard that remarkable snippet from the opening song multiple times on Tiktok I was ready for powerful pop bangers and brain scratching drops and danceable anthems. With that expectation I got disappointed. I guess it's a good album? Objectively? I couldn't finish it. It's just not my vibe 99,9% of the time. It's aggressive and distorted, experimental surely, rooted in hyperpop, I guess, but shedding the pop aspect of it. That's fine, it's just not for me. And I'm still disappointed because "DANCE..." is such a banger with its 70s disco drama and that iconic build-up moment. Maybe that was created for Tiktok specifically but then again it's so different from the rest of the album that the turn-over might not be worth it?
