Why did I download that? Oh, because someone in the Tiktok comments said that's where you can meet the polyamory community. I thought it's where people go to find threesomes. I guess both is true. But I do need to get out of the house more, so. First of all the app is super buggy in my phone. Most of the time profile picture don't load or only a few of them. I guess I shouldn't be so superficial and just focus on the descriptions... Otherwise the handling is fairly normal and there's this kind of practical feature where you swipe left and the person doesn't get deleted from your feed, they're just... on hold? You have to touch the minus button to un-chose them. I don't know, that comes in handy sometimes, especially when I can't see photos and can come back. There is quite some space for free text, which I appreciate. Some people use it, some don't but it's definitely an option and it's not rare that people take the opportunity to write a bit about themselves. To me that's always helpful in figuring out if I am interested in the person. Secondly the app does focus on all things sexual - you can add tags of your preferences to your profile, add a secret message for connections, hidden photos. And there's a whole questionnaire about your practices and kinks to fill out. I didn't finish it and can only assume that you can then send the result to your connections. You can add partners to your profile - so Feeld obviously is for polyam people. And it's for couples looking for someone to join in a threesome. The cliche of unicorn hunters is very well represented here and... that's ok. It's interesting to see that the overwhelming majority of couples looking for a third is male-female and mostly looking for another woman. Just interesting. Oh, and in the first few minutes I got swamped in Likes! Flooded. By men. That's interesting, too. I just uploaded my photos, hadn't written a single word into my profile. Like after like after like. So ultimately I - once again, like on every dating app - had to adjust my settings: no cis men. They will just like everything that looks vaguely feminine. Won't read the description, don't care for personal connection. It's frustrating and sad. I can't even tell if at this point I might be interested in meeting a cis-het guy... No, actually I'm pretty sure I don't wanna. What do I want, though. I need new experiences and I need a social life. Honestly I need new friends. And I'm sure new sexperiences would improve my mental health. But to be honest the sexual content on the app currently feels overwhelming. Which is not good. My confidence is gone. And how do you even meet people because when do you even meet people. It's either "let's not chat too long and meet immediately" (yeah, I can't do that because this week is kids-week and next week I already have two social things and the rest of the week I need for creative work and decompensating from being social. Or it's a long correspondence via messenger and I really really suck at those. Bottom line: Feeld is an ok dating app if you're looking for sex stuff and even if you're not you can probably find nice people and I might just stay a hermit for the next ten years. #dating #personal #polyamory

Kids Classism

Lil one had some friends over, second graders, nice enough kids. However I cannot help but observe that children who visit us sooner or later end up asking about our finances. I know at some point I bring up the topic myself. But it usually starts like this: "Our living room table is twice, no, four times bigger. Our living room is four times bigger than yours." So I say: "You must be rich then?" From former conversations, though, I know this is where we'll end up anyway. Children always think about money. But they don't think anybody's rich or poor. Neither they and their family nor anybody they know. Everyone is kinda middle. These kids told me, they aren't rich because they have to save money for a whole year to go on vacation. Fair enough. I say we're poor and we can never go on vacation. The topic keeps coming back: "Why don't you have more money?" "Well, how do you get more money?" "Sometimes you get more money from work. If you're a scientist you can make a lot of money. 30€ per day. My dad is an engineer." It is annoying, to be quite honest. I know it's not the kids' fault. But that entitlement? And the tunnel vision. Sure, my apartment isn't too big. But there's lots of cool stuff. Do your parents have a custom wall cloth showing a bright pink sky and Japanese cherry blossom tree? Do you have a Novation Circuit groove box at home? My balcony might be small but it's filled with lush plants. No, it's just: our things are bigger and we go kayaking on the weekends and why don't you have more money? #classism #parenting

Vinted sucks

Rant from a consumer perspective. Transaction cancelled I'd say 10-20% of my Vinted purchases fall through because the seller never reacts and doesn't send anything out. Vinted sets a time limit for shipping - 7 or 10 days? And then automatically cancels the transaction and refunds the payment. Cool, that it works easily and automatically. But it's very frustrating. While I wait for my purchase, similar items I saved are being sold and I end up with zero pants after I scrolled through hundreds and tried to make a reasonable decision. Fees Of course there's the ridiculous price increase since we're basically forced to use "the system". Shipping costs are completely in transparent and much higher then they would be if you send packages privately. Some odd service fee. Summed up I end up paying around 10€ for a 4€ item. Often puts me off of even buying. (Human?) Error Wrong item sent. Item is much smaller than expected. Item in worse condition than expected. Mistakes that happen. More people selling, people selling more - there's bound to be more error. I suspect that the whole second hand market is blowing up, people are getting ambitious, send out a lot of stuff and make mistakes. I just got sent the wrong package and the seller told me to just file a ticket with the system. We probably could have resolved the issue privately, but ok, let's make it more complicated and no y2k hoop earrings for me once again. I don't even know how often I've tried to get some for the last couple months but apparently that wish of mine is cursed. What I'm saying is, maybe people are getting a bit too ambitious with their private sales business. But we all gotta make some money, I get it. Bigger Sizes Of course it was never easy to find bigger sizes second-hand and shouldn't it be easier since Vinted is so much bigger now? More sellers, more things. I can buy stuff from Italy, and France, and the Netherlands, yay! Unfortunately they don't have fat people in Italy and France. (Not sure about the Netherlands.) So whatever they try to sell me from there is most likely not going to fit me. Size 44 doesn't mean the same in all of Europe. So I need to somehow check where something's coming from and that's surprisingly more difficult than you should think. You can't filter buy country. So around half of the stuff I bought since they opened transactions EU wide doesn't fit me. Algorithm It's here as well. We can never falter, never rest. We need to push our algorithm, need to make our offerings appealing and right and palatable. Don't ever sell anything without the system because they know and you'll get shadow-banned! Awesome. I still have this pile of clothes lying around and I'm planning on trying to sell it. But I'm not optimistic. It's not straight-sized stuff, it's not the latest fashion trends and I'm not a Vinted influencer. Might be easier to throw it away. #rant #experience #internet
