Coverartwork should relate to the
music video, usually. We'd been talking about that for a while now. The song definitely warrants one. It's just... a long song. With a second part. Lots of work. For two people with no budget.
But yeah, we really wanna.
We had a couple ideas floating around - from "let's do something without CGI" to "oooor let's do everything except the person CGI". I guess one day we'll make a thing that's purely cool camera and lenses and light and no 3D graphics... But it is not this day.
We ended up watching some old music videos - "A&E" by Goldfrapp, "Ray of Light" by Madonna, "No Scrubs" by TLC - and ended up with a concept for the first part of the song that possibly probably is going to be it: different 3D environments with the main character in various outfits. Maybe some space and stars and... zero gravity, obviously. But we can't really do floating or something, we don't have the means for that.
And talking about means: I need to sort through my clothes now. I do own some interesting things but the wardrobe really needs to be out of this world and I can't buy too much new stuff. And the 3D graphics need to match the outfits, so those will be the starting point for the overall look of the video, nolens volens.
What I'm doing now, as a side project, is taking pictures of all my clothes and sorting them into this wardrobe organizing app, "Indyx". Wanted to do that anyway but now it's going to be so helpful to plan out the looks for the video.
